From Nashville, Tennessee, Danny Silvertone is a dark R&B artist who dives into rock sub-genres. His music often takes on a late-night mood vibe that varies in themes, from mental health to intimacy.

With his sound mixing R&B and rock, his lyrics tend to be more pop-forward and lighter, while still having a depth that you can’t help but love. His vocals are velvety and as smooth as the flow of the words; you’ll find each song is a beautifully done representation of Danny Silvertone’s stage persona.

On August 28, Danny Silvertone released his album “Midnight,” ushering in a new era for his sound and branding. This once pop-centric artist has shown that he now leans towards a more brooding, emotional feel on this newest release.

He lets listeners explore a new sound that is more rooted in classic rock and R&B elements than the pop-based work from before. This is a welcome change to the sound, and it goes on to show that Danny is more than capable of mastering different genres with ease.

Silvertones' new album, “Midnight,” is filled with bangers, from the sweet, slow-burning track “The Altar” to the moody, more downtrodden track “Midnight Forever”. These also happen to be two of my personal favourites off the LP, along with “Intuition,” especially with its line “I got that kinda music in my life / that kinda strength inside my mind” and “It’s my bragging rights / Do you want to fight / Cause I know you’ll choke”. I love the subtle emo feel to his music, with how raw and deep the tracks go; as an elder emo, this appeals to me greatly!

I love the beats and production style on this album as well! The way he makes his music feels like it was made for romantasy movies, shows, and book playlists. BookTok needs to find these songs fast, because they are great to listen to while you read, honestly! With lyrics like “I’ll meet you at the altar and worship like a prayer”, you can’t tell me it wouldn’t be a perfect BookTok album, honestly.

The flow from song to song on the tracklist is really great: it feels like a full experience rather than just songs thrown together to get them out individually.

Oddly, I love that the last track of the album is slow, somber, and a beautifully done bittersweet goodbye called “I’m Leaving”. It feels like we are hearing goodbye straight from Danny before he goes. Little details like this are what really round out any EP or LP release and tie it up in a nice bow for the listeners. I can tell a lot of thought and detail has been put into this release!

His vocals are soft, calm, and smooth, keeping you engaged as he sings. I can only imagine his live performances feel even more intimate for the crowd watching him pour out his emotions with such composure.

This album is by far one of my favorite releases by Danny Silvertone, but he has a larger discography up his sleeve, full of other great tracks, too.

All in all, I think Danny Silvertone is on the way up, and I can’t wait to see what he cooks up next, whether it’s exploring more sounds and themes or collaborations on tracks, shows, and more. I would love to see BookTok find this album too, because it is actually really nice to read to; I had to test the theory!
