The London and South East-based four-piece The Ariston have returned with the second single from their upcoming, currently untitled, debut EP.

Titled “Fire”, the track continues to embody the indie rock perfection that The Ariston have spent the past five years honing, while offering another glimpse into what their upcoming project has in store. “Fire” feels like just the beginning of a new chapter for the four-piece.

According to frontman Luca Slade, the new single discusses “knowingly making the wrong decisions but going through with them anyway because they make you feel alive.”

That feeling of deliberately embracing chaos runs throughout the track. Its driving instrumentation and increasingly intense vocals capture the thrill of making decisions you already know you shouldn’t – the classic indie rock style the band excels in. This resembles tracks like “Honey, I’d Lie To You” and “Fiction”, while adding a powerful drum-led bridge from Finn Bruce, elevated by Rich Hiett’s guitar work.

Slade’s layered vocals on the chorus express a sense of desperation that lingers long after the track concludes. I am convinced you cannot listen to this track just once without coming back to it. There is something addictive about the repetition of the song’s title throughout the chorus that burrows its way into your head almost immediately, while the instrumentation keeps the song moving forward.

For fans of Catfish & The Bottlemen, Inhaler and Arctic Monkeys, you are truly missing out if you haven’t checked out The Ariston yet. There is a familiarity to their sound that makes their music accessible for new fans, and yet “Fire” demonstrates that the band is able to build on those foundations in their own ways.

Interestingly, “Fire” and the rest of the EP have both been years in the making. The band debuted the track on BBC Introducing in Sussex & Surrey’s Live Lounge on September 27, 2026, after initially producing a demo three years ago.

Having almost scrapped the song entirely, the band eventually returned to it to record the full version, adding fresh vocals to the chorus, which gave the track a renewed energy. If “Fire” is anything to go by, the EP will certainly be worth the wait.

The Ariston are set to headline London’s Downstairs at The Dome on October 2, 2026, marking the new single release and offering the audience a chance to hear  it live, alongside what’s next for the band.
