The Birmingham-based band Overpass has announced the upcoming release of their debut album, "Elsewhere, Always," set for 5 June 2026.
The band, consisting of members Max Newbold (vocals & guitar), Indie Armstrong (bass), Elliot Rawlings (guitar) and Jake Bishop (drums), has just wrapped up their 2025 tour and already has a lot in store for their growing fanbase.
Listening to their latest single, "Union Station," released on 14 January, we hear a raw and expressive first sound of an incredible upcoming album. Here, we feel a slightly different vibe compared to the band’s earlier releases. It feels more vibrant, but at the same time, it belongs perfectly in the band’s expanding discography.
The minor key in Max’s voice is what immediately gives the listener goosebumps: this is a recurrent feeling Overpass creates with their music and is also what makes their sound stand out so much. The instrumentals and vocals come together powerfully, but that is nothing new from the small band on the rise. With "Elsewhere, Always" being Overpass’ first album, fans have great anticipation for this project.
Of course, with an album comes a much-expected tour: the band’s UK & Ireland tour kicks off on 23 October at Ulster Sports Club in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Expectations for more tour dates, for instance in Europe, are high, although the band already has some festival performances planned in the mainland this spring and summer.
Overpass is playing at various festivals, such as London Calling in Amsterdam on 16 May, Dauwpop in Hellendoorn on 30 May, Metronome Festival in Prague on 19 June, TRNSMT in Glasgow from 19 to 21 June, Mad Cool Festival in Madrid from 8 to 11 July, and last but not least, Y-Not Festival in Pikehall on 1 August.
Until then, "Union Station" can be enjoyed on all streaming platforms while we all wait impatiently for new singles to follow.
