This spring, the British four-piece Keo headlined their first European tour after selling out all of their UK shows. They started out by playing multiple shows across three cities in Germany: Berlin, Hamburg, and Cologne, followed by three shows across three countries: The Netherlands (Utrecht), France (Paris) and Belgium (Antwerp). I had the pleasure of going to multiple shows this tour, and got to take pictures at their show in Utrecht.
The support act for the European leg of the tour was Bleech 9:3, a distinctive support band for Keo. They also had the pleasure of opening up for the headliners' UK leg alongside the band Tooth.
With only four songs out and their last song, "Underrated", being released only last week, a lot of fans seemed to already know the lyrics to all of Bleech 9:3's songs. The lead singer of their band even initiated a few mosh pits during the show, which were met with enthusiastic reception from the crowd.
The first set Keo ever did in mainland Europe was a festival in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, in 2024. It was a short set at the Left of the Dial Festival, so I was glad to see that they later came back as a support act for Nieve Ella, touring around bigger cities in February and March of 2025. Back in the UK, they later played multiple festivals.
The band released their first EP, "Siren", on all streaming platforms in June 2025. This included the songs: "I lied, Amber", "Hands", "Thorn", "Stolen Cars" and "Kind, If You Will". The band also has two officially released songs on SoundCloud, where they mainly promote their music: "Crow" and "Fly".
Describing a Keo gig, I would say it’s a moment of pure connection. It is the perfect show to go to with your friends to have quality time together. Their set was 14 songs long; they played four songs from their EP, one cover, and the rest were unreleased.
At one point in the show, the band let the crowd decide between two songs from their EP: "Stolen Cars" or "Kind, If You Will". During the show in Utrecht, "Stolen Cars" was the obvious choice, as the group of fans chanted loudly for it to be played.
My absolute favourite of theirs is "That’s Me", an unreleased song, but I feel like it fits the band’s tone perfectly. In Utrecht, the crowd even started a mosh pit during the song. Personally, I didn't think Keo was a band you'd kick off a mosh pit to, but it was the most fun I had at all the shows I’ve been to. It might not necessarily fit the band’s setting, but the crowd made sure it was executed well that night.
The band's performance was outstanding, and I would definitely go to another one of their shows and hope to catch them at a festival this summer. Their live shows certainly convinced me to start listening to their music more frequently, not just casually.
