This 30-year-old Californian DJ and producer works against the current: in a world where everything is sped up, he likes to take it slow, creating a beautiful immersive atmosphere with a tempo of 115BPM.

What really caught our eye (and ear!) about this track is its catchy rhythm that unquestionably makes you want to move.

The beat evolves throughout the song – at the two-minute mark the beat gets stronger, more aggressive; the tension builds up as the tune progresses into its final section that subsequently fades out.

The texture of the track is clean but gritty; it is audacious and the repetitive motif surrounding the only lyrics, “I eye”, creates a hypnotic melody, engaging and fun.

“I EYE” sets an euphoric yet carefree mood, evoking scenes of shared bliss on a crowded dancefloor, bodies and minds free to move around and wonder.

Currently Arizona-based, LEESH has been active in the music industry since 2016 and he told BruitMag. that “I EYE” was influenced by “flight fm” by Joy Orbison.

When we asked him which smell, flavour, look and feeling to the touch he associated with the release, he told us that it smells like petrichor, tastes spicy (enough for you to notice, but not to stop a conversation), looks like a human eye and feels like rubbing your hand on cement.

If you’re intrigued by this sensory description, we highly encourage you to give this track a go and check out the rest of LEESH’s discography!
